Debra Brisk, P.E. leads DRB Consulting. As the President of DRB Consulting, Debra provides local agency program management, procurement development, contract services for targeted providers, monitoring, and reporting. Working with state agencies Debra provides statewide program management and transit agency strategic planning (capital and operational). For local agencies, Debra supports agencies for environmental documentation, compliance, and monitoring.

Berta Hartig is the newest member of the DRB team. She has over 20 years of experience in marketing communications, almost split evenly between health care and public transportation. She also spent nearly two years managing the operations of a paratransit service in Central Minnesota. Berta specializes in writing, editing, graphic design, project management, public outreach, marketing communications strategy, and data collection and analysis. She is well versed in ADA compliance as it relates to public transportation and has experience working within a union environment. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in mass communications, with an emphasis in public relations and double minored in public administration and political science. She is a certified ScrumMaster and a graduate of the Eno Center for Transportation Mid-Manager Seminar. Positive, collaborative, resourceful and dedicated to giving her best, Berta focuses on filling the gaps to strengthen any team. When she’s not serving our clients, she’s committed to her community — volunteering her time to Girl Scouts, the Pine Meadow Primary School PTO, or working in her garden to share produce with neighbors.
Mariah Helgeson joined the DRB team in 2019. She has a decade of experience in communications and technology project management working in the public media and non-profit sectors. Mariah specializes in communications strategy, technical and grant writing, and designing effective technology solutions that improve processes. She holds a bachelor’s degree in International Affairs, with concentrations in conflict & security and the Middle East. She worked for the International Institute for Sustained Dialogue and Culture Unplugged, a documentary film festival company in Southern India before her role as a Webby Award-winning producer and senior editor at The On Being Project. She is a graduate of the Poynter Leadership Academy for Women in Media. Creative, detail-oriented, and solutions-minded, Mariah is committed to fostering a collaborative environment to manage any project, large or small. In her spare time, she volunteers with Avivo and Meals on Wheels.

Minnesota Department of Transportation’s Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP) — DRB Team providing program management to RTAP

The DRB Consulting team supports Minnesota’s Rural Transit Assistance Program (RTAP) as the consultant program manager. The DRB team is collaborating, coordinating and advancing training opportunities for the state’s greater Minnesota public transit agencies. These agencies include those funded by Federal Transit Administration (FTA) programs identified as Tribal Transit, Section 5307, 5310 and 5311. The scope of work includes proactive and engaging communication framed within a dynamic website to announce, track and manage training at the state level, agency and individual level. The team of professionals include not only the web designer Cazarin Interactive, RLS and Associates, AECOM, CTAA, Easterseals, Mn. Safety Council, and instate RTAP trainers. The team is serving the state of Minnesota through a multi-year contract.
